A cul-de-sac of competitive cricket
Grassy invitations to sit and play
No front fence, our neighbours were friends
A small house for large relationships
Every space was shared space

19 Forth Road
Soft carpet and warm sun
Enough space to swing many cats simultaneously
Leaves, trees, vegies, and lawn
Privacy and partitions
Space to grow; space to be alone

20 Walkers Avenue
Cold, damp, and insecure
Architecture that couldn’t frustrate our optimism
Spirits determined to be free
Recycle bins testifying to the joy found inside
A testimony of resilient love for other
