Panic (Attack) at the Disco!

It’s peak hour traffic

In a tunnel

In sweltering heat

AC is broken

And the tunnel is constricting

Merging into less

and less lanes

Something’s gotta give

Too many cars

Not enough road…

Is how I feel sometimes.

My heart, mind, and soul

Racing but constricting

And something is gonna give.

Why does thinking feel like

Spelunking, all of a sudden?

Shhhhhh……………..

Breathe.

Quiet now…..

Just breathe.

Panic is not welcome here….

Keep breathing.

Slow it down…

Breathe in, and then out.

Submit

Don’t fight it

It will pass.

God is here.

If you can,

Say hi.

He cares for you.

Find the weight.

You might not be able to take it all off

But see if you can take off a few smaller ones

Just so you can breathe again.

Do you know how you got here?

You stopped longing for air.

You held your breath for too long.

Now you need to recover.

God gave you two good lungs,

You don’t get extra points

for not using them.

Quiet now, my mind.

Quiet now, my heart.

Quiet now, my soul.
