Thanks for coming over and taking a look. I’m Dave, and I don’t think you’ve wasted your time being here.
If you’d gone and followed me on Strava, then yeah, you’d be wasting your time. Ooft, I almost want to apologise to people who start following me and my annual 1.5km run at a pace of 5:15 per km with 5 metres of total incline. But I don’t want to apologise for you being here, though. I hope this might be valuable to you.
As the little tagline says, this blog serves as a catchment for my cognitive overflow. A compost bin for the crusts of my storytelling. I don’t have a problem with writing sermons, my main problem is writing content that advances the narrative and moves along a common thread of argument. I’m Dave, and I love a good tangent. But that means some of my best work lies on the cutting room floor. If a good sermon is the fortified city, then this serves as the moat between my overly-excited brain and the end product.
My hope is that people come and drink the moat water and find it to be tasty and nourishing, because it would be a shame to waste such a good natural resource as water.
Anyway, where was I…
Oh yeah, welcome. I hope you enjoy it here, but don’t thank me, just pay it forward.
On that, Haley Joel Osment, star of ‘Pay It Forward’, was born in 1988. That makes him him 35 in 2023.
See? Nourishing you already.
Peace,
Dave
